Should I pay a service charge with my rent if the items included with the service charge do not apply to me?

The service charge is for communal lighting, gardening and cleaning, but I do not live in a communal area and do not need any service.|||I would check your tenancy agreement, it seems a bit strange that you are being asked to contribute for services you do not use or require, mostly service charges are more common with people who may live in flats where there are areas like hallways, and gardens which are there for everyones use.|||They are all there for you and that is in the agreement you signed.Whether

you have alternatives or not.I don't use certain services i pay council tax for

but they are there.|||Communal means outside. If the charges were specified in your lease, then yes you have to pay. It makes no difference whether you use the common areas or not.
