How much should the service charge be in the Philippines?

There are some restos who just indicate that there is no serviice charge from their receipt, but how much should I really give?|||Usually the Service Charge (SC) is around 10% of your bill. If you find a SC included in your bill, tipping is optional. If there is no SC, you can give a tip ranging from 5% to 15% of your bill. However, a 50 Peso tip is sufficient, 100 is a bit generous, more than 100 is too much (especially in the provinces). A 20 Peso tip is sufficient for bellboys in small hotels and other small establishments.

Actually I do not recommend tourist to keep on giving tips. Sometimes people would no longer do their jobs without tips. Do not let your money do the talking. A warm smile and thank you would be sufficient.|||most service industries (hotels, restaurants, bars etc) will bill their patrons with 10% service charge.

as mandated by law, inclusive in their rates is 12% VAT.

if it (the service charge) is already inclusive to the rate, there is no need for you to give anything extra unless you want to give a tip.|||service is very bad in phil. restos. give them nothing or 1000 and you get same lousy service. good rule to give them any amount under 100 from your change just so you dont get spit in your drink next time|||not more than 10%. if you are happy with service, you can give more.
