Why do they charge for internet service in most Vegas Hotels?

I see that most Vegas Hotels charge for internet service.

Why is that?

Some charge $20 a day which is ridiculous!|||Though I agree the charge is high, the casino/hotel is in the business of making profit. If you spend time on internet you are not going downstairs gambling, eating or seeing the shows.

Are you coming to Vegas for entertainment you cannot get in your hometown? If you are there for business, not pleasure, then use of an internet is logical. Otherwise, leave the computer home|||If you need to do more than check in for your flight there's an Internet cafe on West Charleston (Cyber Smoothie Cafe) near Red Rock Canyon that charges $5 per hour. Most of the Las Vegas strip Internet cafes charge $5 for 15 minutes.|||Because they do not want you in your room surfing the internet when you should be down in their casino gambling. That is why there are only a few television stations on the TV in your room. Just because they don't want you sitting in your room watching TV.|||Because people will pay for it.

I've noticed a lot of high end hotels charging a minimum of $10 a day, while inexpensive motels usually provide free internet.|||Because they are a business not a charity and love to squeeze us dry,

go to internet cafe its cheaper.
