Labour contractor is charging for Labour charges bill,
Can he charges the service tax on Uniform %26amp; shoes bills which is provided by him|||Not sure if you are talking about construction or some other sector where are expected wear a uniform, like a security guard or hotel doorman.
If you are talking about working as a labourer in construction, then you are legally required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This consists of hard hat, high visibility jacket and steel toe-capped footwear, gloves and eye protection. This should all be supplied free of charge to you by the employer. It is your employer's responsibility to ensure that you are properly equipped.
If you are talking about a uniform and it is a special purchase, for instance for a doorman outside a hotel, then the employer should provide it. If it is a dress code, for instance a waiter may be required to wear black trousers and shoes, white shirt, black tie. In this case the employee is usually expected to provide it.
In some cases, when you have to supply your own work wear and equipment, you may be able to set it off against tax when you complete your tax return. Your accountant should be able to advise you on this.
